Up for sale is a wonderful antique handmade marquetry gambling poker chip caddy set. It’s made out of a hand cut and inlaid wooden box, has acquired a lovely patina from age, and is in great condition. It consists of red, blue, and white clay chips that sit recessed into the removable wooden caddy tray. It also has two slots in the caddy to be able to hold playing cards and has a working square locking mechanism on the front but doesn’t have a key. For some reason, it says (handwritten in pencil) No. 964 1″ black frame” which doesn’t seem to pertain to this box. Chips are a little over 3/4 in diameter. Box is 6 1/2″ long with lid on, 2 3/4″tall and 1 1/4 tall. The box is stable but is a little hard to close. The lid sticks out a bit from the end when closed. There is wear consistent with its age. Please examine pictures closely as they are the most important description of the items.
